Simplicity is bliss. While there are many great comprehensive and complex programs out there to engage girls in science, technology, engineering and math, we won't be discussing those in this session. Instead we will be looking at simple ways to engage girls and young women in STEM.
Starting with exposure and incorporating ways to engage and build academic confidence, this simple approach is aiming to move the needle on the number of women entering STEM fields.
Based a little research and a lot of common sense, this approach is being implemented this fall at Byron Academy (http://www.ByronAcademy.org), a supplemental STEM academy for girls grades 7 - 12.
Attendees will join us online to hear about our STEM program and discuss their own initiatives, stories of success and areas needing improvement.
Event provider: Ryan Duques is the founder of Byron Academy, a supplemental STEM initiative for girls and young women.
